Sixth Form

Fortismere is a vibrant and diverse sixth form offering an exciting range of A Level and BTEC subjects. Fortismere’s holistic sixth form education supports our students to develop the knowledge, skills and passions that will equip them to thrive in a complex and changing world.

We offer a broad range of A Level subjects, including specialist areas like Classical Civilisation, Drama and Theatre Studies, Computer Science and Music. From Engineering and Medicine to Acting and TV Journalism, our students go on to achieve wonderful things. Fortismere develops confident and independent learners who support each other and want to make the world a better place. Our holistic sixth form education ensures not only excellent teaching but first rate pastoral support and super curricula enrichment.

This summer, Fortismere Students are celebrating another year of outstanding results at A level.  In the first year where students sat the new, more demanding A level examinations in all subjects they have gained impressive outcomes.  1 in 5 students achieved at least 3 A grades.  11% of the grades achieved were A* and 71% of the grades achieved by our students were at least B grade.

Sixth Form Curriculum

From 2019, our students will study three A level subjects from the beginning of Year 12, with some students additionally taking an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) and a few, Further Mathematics, as a fourth A level.

Alternatively, students will select one BTEC Extended Diploma course, which is the equivalent of three A levels.

Alongside their academic courses, all students will participate in an exciting range of weekly enrichment activities. Students will have access to careers and leadership programmes, sports, academic lectures, cultural visits and volunteering opportunities. Such opportunities will support our students in their personal development and widen their horizons.
