Previous Exam Results

2016

Our best results yet! We are delighted that our 2016 results - at  GCSE and A-Level - were our best ever.

At A-Level, 72% of students achieved A*-B. 92% achieved grade C and above. Our Average Point Score (essentially our average grade) is B+ which compares very favourably with schools in the independent sector, and makes us even more proud of our students and staff.

At GCSE, 90% of students achieved grade A* to C, with 86% including Maths and English. Fifty-six percent of students achieved the EBAC, another increase on last year.

Progress 8 and Attainment 8

These new measures were introduced this year. Progress 8 aims to capture the progress a pupil makes from the end of primary school to the end of secondary school. Our Progress 8  currently stands at 0.5 which is great. Attainment 8 measures the achievement of a pupil across 8 qualifications (including Maths and English). Our Attainment 8 currently stands at 6.3, which is also high.

We've been hearing lots of heart-warming stories about students whose results exceeded their expectations (whether as straight As or a collection of Bs and Cs), and who are now even more excited about what the future holds. Many congratulations to the students and thank you to all the staff that supported them to reach this important milestone.

2015

We were very pleased with our 2015 results, which saw 70% of our Year 13 students achieving A*-B - a significant increase on last year. At AS we also outstanding results, with 56% achieving A*-B. With record numbers gaining places onto Oxbridge, medical, dental and veterinary courses this year, we also felt that we had much to be proud of.

At GCSE, we were also delighted with our results. An impressive 80% gained five or more GCSEs at C or above, including maths and English.  Our success with EBAC again this year was particularly pertinent since future judgements about a school’s performance will be far more closely aligned to the subjects represented within the EBAC set of qualifications although not exclusively so. With 55% of our students achieving the EBAC, we are significantly above the national average. I think you will agree that out students and staff really did us all proud!
