LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND TEACHER training

Leadership Training

Fortismere School leads on the UCL Institute of Education (IOE) Leadership Development Programmes (NPQs) which are a core part of our Teaching School Hub (North East London Teaching School Hub - NELTSH) approach to talent identification and succession planning.

As one of the Strategic Partner Schools within the NELTSH Hub and the Haringey Education Partnership (HEP), we play a leading role in training the school leaders of tomorrow. Colleagues that apply to our leadership programmes come from a wide range of geographical locations across Haringey, London and the South East.

We deliver the national professional qualifications for Senior Leadership (Deputy and Assistant Headship/Associate roles to Senior Leadership Teams) and for Middle Leadership (Head of Departments, Teacher Training Leads and Pastoral Leaders), in close collaboration with NELTSH, HEP and the UCL IOE Centre for Educational Leadership.

This provides teachers with the opportunity to become successful middle and senior leaders and many of our past graduates have moved onto successful school leadership careers.

Teacher Training

We are experts in training new entrants to the profession, through a fully-funded, two-year package of structured training and support for early career teachers linked to the best available research evidence.

The package ensures new teachers have dedicated time set aside to focus on their development. The vision is to build on high-quality Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and become the cornerstone of a successful career in teaching.
