A-Level

Fortismere Students  celebrated another year of outstanding results at A level in 2019.  In the first year where students sat the new, more demanding A level examinations in all subjects they have gained impressive outcomes.  1 in 5 students achieved at least 3 A grades which is remarkable.  11% of the grades achieved were A* and 71% of the grades achieved by our students were at least B grade.

These outcomes ensured  that our students were in a strong position to access their first choice of University and were able to embark on a range of competitive courses.

This success comes at the end of two years of incredible hard work from our students who once again demonstrated they are committed, aspirational and ambitious.

GCSE

Students at Fortismere celebrated again this year after another excellent crop of GCSE results were achieved.

Students attained the best results under the new framework in English and Maths combined with 82% of the cohort achieving grade 4 or above in both subjects.

Co-headteachers Jo Davey and Zoe Judge were delighted to be able to congratulate the students as they came to collect their results at school this morning; ‘We are thrilled that our students have received such good news upon opening their results this morning.  Sprits are incredibly high today at Fortismere.  Students are particularly thrilled to have achieved impressive results in the core subject areas, English, Maths and Science which means they are able to access a range of opportunities in the 6th form.  Their success is of course down to 2 years of very hard work and commitment on their part.  To see them excel and make such good progress on courses that are considerably more challenging is fantastic.’

Students progressed at a faster rate at Fortismere compared with other school  (Progress 8 +0.56) while we maintained our very high standard with regards to attainment with students achieving attainment grade of 0.58 which equates to an average grade B across the subjects.

We are delighted that so many of our students received the top grades.  It is a remarkable achievement that 1 in 10 of the grades achieved was grade 9.
