April 2023 EASTER Holiday Camps
Fortismere runs regular holiday camps. These offer a wide range of activities for children to enjoy including Art & Crafts, Photography, Chess, Dance, Drama and Multi Sports. Holiday camps are ideal if you find it hard to balance work and keep your children entertained during the school holidays.
Activities take place at Fortismere School, Tetherdown, London N10 1NE from 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday. The cost for a full week is £80.00. There is also an early drop-off option (8.00am) which includes a light breakfast.

Tiny Twinkle Age 3-6 Week 1 3rd April
Perfect for 3-6 year olds, activities are led by professional actors with a love for the early years! Each day the children will explore different genres of creative arts - learning songs and dances, acting and role play adventures, exploring arts & crafts plus lots of games and fun. Sports Age 7-15 Week 1 3rd April
Children will have fun and interact with others through a range of different sports such as football, rounders, tennis and sporty competitions. Book a place here
Drama Club Age 8-15 Week 1 3rd April
Over the week the children will work on improvisation and comedy skills plus there will be lots of drama exercises and games to help them develop their confidence and skills. Book a place here
Comic club Age 7-13 Week 1 3rd April
Children will learn about comics and cartoon history and how they have been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years. They’ll look at basic anatomy and character design and how to fit this into stories. Storytelling including layout and structure, scripting and lettering and colouring are also covered. Using the skills gathered, students will work on their own comic strip and produce a complete 8-12 page comic. SOLD OUT
Art Club Age 7-13 Week 1 3rd April
Experiment and explore core techniques in art using print, paint, pastels, pencil, plus more. The focus is to encourage children to engage with exciting materials, release their inner creativity and have fun. Themes across the week include Portraiture, Landscapes, Pop art and Typography. There will be an opportunity for parents/carers to view work with an exhibition at the end of the week. Book a place here
Musical Theatre age 7-14 Week 1 3rd April
Each day the children will explore different styles of dance with an emphasis on ballet and tap. Children will work on technique, dance routines and choreography, as well as projects designed to encourage creativity when storytelling through dance. The participants will work towards final pieces and will be given plenty of time to interact with others and make lasting friendships! Comic 11th April Week 2 Age 7-14
1. INTRODUCTION:
Overview of comics and cartoon history and how they been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years.
2. BASIC ANATOMY:
Showing how the human body works and is designed to move.
3. CHARACTER DESIGN:
How to work up designs for different types of characters and how they fit into the stories you want to tell.
4. STORYTELLING:
Overview of comics storytelling, layout and structure.
5. SCRIPTING & LETTERING:
A look at the basics of comics scriptwriting and how to produce clear lettering by hand for comics.
6. COLOURING:
An exploration of different colouring techniques (including, if possible, computer colouring).
7. COMIC STRIP:
Using the skills gathered so far, students will work on their own comic stories.
8. COMPLETE FINISHED COMIC:
By the end of the course each student will produce their own complete 8 - 12 page comic strip.
