FINCH

FINCH: The Fortismere Inclusion Hub Alternative Provision

For over four years, FINCH (Fortismere Inclusion Hub) has been a cornerstone of our inclusive provision, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring that all students can thrive within our school community.

Why FINCH Matters

FINCH is not a separate entity; it is an integral part of the Fortismere family. Some students need a different pathway at certain points in their education, and FINCH provides personalised support that enables them to re-engage with learning and return successfully to mainstream education or progress confidently to their next chapter.

Our strategic priority is to close achievement gaps for disadvantaged pupils and maintain strong outcomes for SEND students while ensuring all students receive timely, effective support. FINCH embodies this commitment by:

  • Identifying barriers early and providing targeted intervention
  • Maintaining academic ambition through well-planned, relevant lessons
  • Building strong relationships founded on kindness, trust and mutual respect
  • Preparing students for their futures with confidence, independence and a renewed sense of purpose

Our Inclusive Family of Schools

We have expanding specialist provision including Finch and our planned Autism ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) demonstrating our strategic commitment to inclusive education. Strategic oversight of Finch ensures improved outcomes for pupils with complex needs, and correct identification and placement of students in AP leads to successful outcomes.

FINCH represents our belief that every individual is valued and included, and that with the right support, every student can achieve excellent outcomes. By establishing this provision four years ago, Fortismere has been ahead of the national conversation on inclusive mainstream education, proving that alternative provision can and should be an embedded part of a thriving school community.
