Update March 2026
We were notified that we were part of this project in the Summer of 2024. We are currently in the feasibility phase, and by the end of this stage, we will have a much clearer picture of what the design of our new school will look like and where the new building will be located.
Even at this early stage, it's clear that the DfE has significant experience in managing complex school rebuilds. They share our ambition for Fortismere and are committed to working with us to ensure they deliver a school where our vision can be fully realised.
This is a unique project. We are a mainstream school with specialist provisions, and we very much represent a school community model for the future of inclusive education. We are also reassured that the DfE regularly undertakes these projects with a distinct focus on creating minimal disruption to the smooth running of the school. We are fortunate to have a large site, and we anticipate that once the build is underway, there will be minimal impact on our students and staff.
The DfE leads on community communications as part of their rebuild projects, and they will be in touch with our school and local community in due course.
We intend to provide regular updates to our community on how the project is progressing on this page. This is a long-term project and we will give updates when there are new things to share.
Please check back here for updates as the project progresses.
