HARINGEY LOCAL OFFER

The Local Offer is information for parents and carers of children and young people (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities.  It explains the different support on offer in Haringey for those children and young people and their families.

The Haringey Local Offer homepage is a good place to start if you are interested in finding out about:

  • Groups, events and workshops provided by a range of different organisations that support children and their families
  • Education and schools information for SEND, Education Health and Care Plans, Special schools and Specialist teams
  • Travel and transport assistance such as independent travel training and personal travel budgets
  • Health services including Speech & Language needs, Mental Health needs, Autism, Equipment and adaptations
  • Preparing young people for adulthood, advice on jobs, accommodation, benefits and more

SENDIASS - Advice & Support Service

Haringey provides a free, impartial and confidential service for Haringey parents and carers whose children have (or may have) special educational needs and/or disabilities. The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information and Advice Support Service, known as SENDIASS, is provided by Markfield and can help parents to:

  • Understand and navigate procedures and support for SEND aged 0-25 years
  • Get advice on how to access education, health and social care services
  • Complete forms, contribute to assessments and reviews and prepare for meetings
  • Get help with appeals and when things go wrong with SEND related matters

The service can be contacted by email sendiass@markfield.org.uk, by telephone helpline (020 8802 2611) and at regular drop-in sessions at the Markfield Centre N15 4RB.  Full details of all the support and services can be found on the SENDIASS Markfield website

SEND Power Parent Forum

This is a forum for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.  The aim of the Forum is to offer support, share information, share experiences and views, and give a collective voice to parents and carers of children with SEND in Haringey.
