FMC Opening Times

  • Saturdays, during term-time, from 9am to 4pm
  • Tuesdays, during term-time, from 7pm to 9pm (please note this is when our community orchestra rehearses)

FMC offers individual lessons for adults and children with experienced tutors from Haringey Music Service. All tutors currently work in primary and secondary schools throughout the borough. If you would like to receive music lessons, please complete our application form

We offer lessons on the following instruments to both adults and children:

  • Cello
  • Double bass
  • Oboe
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Bassoon
  • Saxophone
  • Drum Kit
  • French horn
  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Bass guitar
  • Electric guitar
  • Piano
  • Jazz piano
  • Voice
  • Orchestral percussion
We also offer group lessons in:
  • Theory (grades 1 to 8)
  • Logic Pro
  • Reading music for beginners (adult)

The FMC is also a centre for the Associated Board Theory Exams. If you are interested in taking an exam in either June or November please email fmcinfo@fortismere.org.uk for an application form.

You can also join one of our community groups:

Fortismere Community Choir rehearse on Saturday mornings 10.30am to 1pm and has 60+ members, including parents, staff, local adults and some students.

Fortismere Community Orchestra (FCO) rehearse on Tuesday evenings 7pm to 9pm. FCO is for grade 7+ players.
