Sixth Form
We have an outstanding, popular and welcoming Sixth Form, with students joining us from a wide geographical area. From 2018, our students will study three A level subjects from the beginning of Year 12, with some students additionally taking an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) and a few, Further Mathematics, as a fourth A level.
Our impressive range of subjects attracts high numbers in traditional A levels, as well as specialist areas like Classical Civilisation, Economics and Philosophy. We also offer a small number of Vocational Qualifications.
We support our students’ academic progress by a system of target setting and monitoring. We also provide excellent guidance for students, as well as additional mentoring for those making Oxbridge applications or preparing for BMAT and UKCAT (medical) or Law entrance exams. The vast majority progress on to university and a sophisticated guidance system ensures that they are well advised in their decision-making.
We have a strong focus on school leadership and on students taking responsibility for their progress. We also have lots of extra-curricular opportunities that help our students become confident and articulate young adults.
We work to challenge, inspire and support our students towards achieving their best possible outcomes, whist helping them to care about themselves, each other and their community.
