Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London with a strong tradition of excellence. The Co-headteachers are seeking to appoint our first apprentice to the school, in order to develop our communications further.

Fortismere continues to be a school with strong outcomes but with the potential to do even better. Ambitious and inclusive; caring while demanding; collaborative, visionary and inspirational are all words that would describe our school, and should describe any aspiring candidates for this role. We have all the right ingredients to make an even greater success of this fantastic school, which is recognised for providing an outstanding education whilst valuing the whole person. We have the highest expectations of every student, who in turn receive an excellent education that transforms their life chances. This role will continue to get this message out into our local community.

The right person will learn how to engage our school community, and will develop experience of innovative and effective approaches for communication. The successful candidate will have responsibility for communications and public relations, learning the skills necessary both in school and via your college course. Someone who is visible, talented, aspirational, inclusive and motivational and is not afraid of challenging work will be successful in this role. We are also looking for an individual who is intellectually curious, communicates effectively and has an interest in, and talent for, the use of different media platforms.

If this sounds like you, and if like us you are committed to comprehensive state education and have a desire to further your career and education in the field of communication, then we would like to hear from you.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS prior to appointment.
