NEU Strike Action - Thursday 27th April

Fortismere will be closed to the majority of students on 27 April 2023 owing to planned strike action by the NEU.  The only exception to this will be those students deemed ‘vulnerable’ by the DfE definition.

All Y11 students will have access to remote learning via their subject classrooms. Work will be set according to their usual timetable for the day.  For some students there will be onsite, face to face teaching. It is expected that students who are members of those classes will attend those lessons.  Details of the lessons being taught onsite, face to face have been sent via ParentMail.

For Y13 students there will be some lessons taught onsite on 27 April. Students who are normally in these lessons are expected to attend.  Details of the lessons being taught onsite, face to face have been sent via ParentMail.

Targeted Y13 students will be contacted separately and will be expected to attend study sessions at school. Y13 students are welcome to work onsite for the day. Work will be set online for the lessons timetabled for 27 April.

Please note there will be no catering available on 27 April so students who are attending lessons onsite will be required to bring their own refreshments.  Parents of pupils who would receive a free school meal on that day, but are not at school will receive an additional payment with the holiday FSM vouchers.

Teachers that are working on this date will provide work online for their students and will be contactable via google classroom to provide assistance. Please note that teachers who are striking are not legally required to provide work for the day, except for Years 11 and 13, by agreement with the NEU.
