Accessing Student Email

In order to provide access to Go4Schools for homework, all students have been given an email address. This is of the form username@students.fortismere.org.uk.

This email address is currently provided via google - the procedure to log in is as follows:

  1. Go to http://mail.google.com
  2. Sign in with the account username@fortismere.school - note that this is different from the @students address used currently by go4schools.
  3. You will be transferred to an atomwide logon page - here you should input the standard school login, for example bloggsj.309 - password123
  4. You will now be transferred to your inbox. This includes mail sent to both username@fortismere.school and username@students.fortismere.org.uk

Students should note that although staff email address are listed in the google apps domain, they should always use the @fortismere.org.uk addresses to contact staff as the google accounts are not monitored.

The two different email addresses exist in order that we can seamlessly move to a new email system without disruption to google classroom services should it become preferable to do so.
