The library is a two floor study area to be found in the Sixth Form building, but accessed separately.  It has space and resources for all staff and students and was recently newly furnished by the FSA.

The lower floor is for KS3 and KS4, and is open from 8am till 5pm daily.  The upper floor includes a silent study area for sixth formers.  There are three professional librarians on hand to support and assist students.
There are 10 computers downstairs and 18 upstairs, a scanner and 2 colour printers.  We have a photocopier and a bookable DVD player, and listening facilities are available for audiobooks and language support.

There are book clubs to suit almost every age group.  Year 7's "Mad for Books" Club runs weekly during the Autumn and Spring terms and in the Summer Term Year 8 pupils shadow the prestigious Carnegie Book Award.  "Novel Attractions" is a book review group for Year 9s, and the sixth form reading group, "Undercover", enjoys regular meetings.  Even parents and staff can get involved by attending "Cover Up", our half termly parent/teacher reading group.  We work closely with the English department to ensure that everyone gets a chance to enjoy reading, with buddy schemes, VLE groups and other reading initiatives.

We aim to have stock to suit everyone.  Reference, text and non-fiction books are available as well as up to date periodicals to support learning. We have a huge range of fiction from the classics to current best sellers, and we welcome requests for new titles.  We also have picture books, Quick Reads, book and CD sets, novels in other languages and a selection of DVDs to borrow.

We get daily newspapers (The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Mirror) and we subscribe to various popular on-line resources.  Board games are available at lunchtime, and our exhibitions and book displays are changed weekly to capture the imagination.  We host lots of activities and enjoy author visits throughout the year.
